A number of reports had earlier stated that Animal would be arriving on Netflix with an Extended Cut, which would have meant an additional 8 to 9 minutes of footage for the film’s online premiere. Fans were ecstatic about the OTT version of Animal and, when the day of its premiere finally arrived, they were disappointed that there was no Extended Cut and started harassing Netflix on social media.
Social media users criticized Netflix for not providing an Extended Cut for Animal’s OTT version. “But disappointed knowing there is no extended version on Netflix as said earlier,” one user wrote. “What happened with extended version?? Second half is rubbish. Good first half.” A third user asked when the Extended Cut Version of @AnimalTheFilm would be released.
For the benefit of the uninitiated, the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) certified Animal ‘A’ before to its distribution and insisted on five cuts be made to the movie.

Animal are involved in legal disputes
A dispute that had previously existed between T-Series and CINE 1 Studios Private Limited, the film’s co-producers, was resolved in the Delhi High Court following a plea from Cine1 Studios to halt the release of the movie on the over-the-top (OTT) platform until T-Series complied with the terms of the agreement, which called for the two houses to share 35 percent ownership of the film and to assign their right of first refusal and last matching right.
The two production houses made an appearance through their senior counsel, Amit Sibal and Sandeep Sethi, who submitted and brought to the record that their clients had reached a settlement agreement; the bench of Justice Sanjeev Narula noted their remarks.
