Before the five-match series against England, which is set to begin on January 25 and have its opening match at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, India’s wicketkeeper batsman, KL Rahul, traveled to the Sri Mookambika Temple in Udupi.
KL Rahul is likely to play in the first Test match against England, as the BCCI has already announced the squad for the first two matches. KL Rahul was recently a member of the Indian Test squad that played South Africa, where the wicketkeeper batter scored 101 and 4 runs in the first match and 8 runs in an inning in the second match.

With the return of Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel, India’s spin department saw a powerful combination of R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, and Axar Patel. With this fearsome foursome, India appeared prepared to launch a spin assault on the English team.
Even though the bowling lineup took center stage, a new face made an appearance: Uttar Pradeshi Dhruv Jurel, a wicketkeeper-batsman who earned his first call-up, gave the wicketkeeping department more depth along with KL Rahul and KS Bharat. Rahul, who had worn the gloves in the Tests against South Africa, was joined by a youthful, skilled reserve.
A major omission from the Test team was Ishan Kishan, who had taken a vacation from the ongoing Twenty20 International series against Afghanistan. Avesh Khan, who had replaced Shami during the South Africa tour, was included despite not having played a Test match.
But things took a surprising turn when Centurion debutant Prasidh Krishna was left out because of a quadriceps injury he suffered in a Ranji Trophy match. While the Karnataka team physio treated Prasidh, speculation swirled about how quickly he would heal and if he would be able to rejoin India A support staff that was playing the England Lions over two days in Ahmedabad.
