The lineup poster for the 2024 Coachella festival is shown below. Promoters Goldenvoice revealed on Tuesday that Lana Del Rey, Doja Cat, Tyler, the Creator, and No Doubt would be headlining the event.

The lineup also includes Peso Pluma, Blur, J Balvin, Ice Spice, Sublime, Lil Uzi Vert, Grimes, Victoria Monet, Jon Batiste, Bleachers, Justice, Deftones, and Lil Yachty. The festival’s 23rd edition will be held on the weekends of April 12–14 and April 19–21 at its home venue, the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, California.

The general presale starts on January 19 at 11 a.m. PT; however, passes for the 2023–2022 festival are already available to those who bought tickets during the loyalty presale, which starts on January 18 at 2 p.m. PT.

YouTube will make a comeback in 2023 as the festival’s official YouTube channel’s exclusive livestream partner for both Coachella weekends.

The exact meaning of the billing has never been known; initially, it appeared to be either a late-night dance slot or a kind of backup act in case one of the main headliners had to cancel (which finally happened to Swedish House Mafia in 2022, who filled in for the Weeknd on Sunday nights after Kanye West had canceled just days before the festival). However, last year, when Frank Ocean pulled out of the second weekend, the billing was interpreted as an indication of the artist’s headlining billing, but without a specific date.

Both Dua Lipa and Shakira, who are expected to release new albums in 2024, were apparently considered to be the headliners. Lipa withdrew due to scheduling conflicts, while festival organizers reportedly rejected Shakira.

While the group relaunched a second reunion tour in 2022 and played 19 shows, singer Zach de la Rocha suffered a serious knee injury, and the dates were postponed indefinitely. Meanwhile, drummer Brad Wilk posted on January 3 that the group “will not be touring or playing live again.” Rage Against the Machine was supposed to headline Coachella’s 2020 episode, which the epidemic finally caused to be postponed four times after it was announced in January of that year.

Headliners from the previous year included Bad Bunny, Blackpink, and, for the first weekend, Frank Ocean, the 2020 headliner. The elusive singer had arranged for an elaborate ice-skating rink to be built, complete with scores of skaters, for his performance; however, it was disassembled at the last minute, so he ended up playing a loose, low-key set that started late and disappointed a lot of fans. Blink-182 took his place during the second weekend.

The festival experienced a last-minute headliner switch for the second year in a row in 2022. Harry Styles, Billie Eilish, and Swedish House Mafia performed as a tag team, replacing Kanye West, who had canceled her performance just days before the first weekend of the festival.

The 125,000 tickets available for Coachella, the biggest music event in North America, have already been sold out.
