Day two box office haul for Fighter: The high-profile action movie starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone began to take off on Republic Day and is rapidly approaching the Rs 100 crore milestone.
The big-budget Hrithik Roshan film Fighter made a good showing on its second day of release, which also happened to be Republic Day holiday. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh estimates that Fightr increased by over 70%, earning Rs 41 crore on its second day of release, which also happened to be the holiday. This brings the film’s two-day domestic total to Rs 65 crore, with a Rs 120 crore domestic opening weekend on the cards.
Fighter, which is a patriotic action film directed by Siddharth Anand, is about a few Air Force fighter pilots during a time of conflict. Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor, along with Karan Singh Grover and Akshay Oberoi, play supporting roles. Fighter’s occupancy, according to Sacnilk, was 41% for the standard 2D version and 42% for the 3D version. Evening shows drew the largest crowds for both versions of the movie. Mumbai and the Delhi NCR region reported occupancy of roughly 50%, while Chennai reported over 80% occupancy, but from very few shows. Despite recent trends, Fighter is not being sold as a pan-India film.
Fighter, which opens on day three, will surpass the opening day total of Rs 80 crore that Vikram Vedha, the star’s last release, was perceived to have underperformed, although it still fell short of the lofty expectations that Hrithik has set for himself recently (his two previous films with Siddharth Anand had bigger debuts).
It is anticipated that the fighter will continue to perform over the weekend. Siddharth, Deepika, and Anil Kapoor have all recently had major successes. Anil was spotted in the controversial blockbuster Animal, whereas Siddharth and Deepika shared the screen in the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Pathaan. The movie War holds the record for Hrithik’s highest opening, raking in Rs 53 crore in 2019 and achieving a worldwide gross of approximately Rs 470 crore. Starting with an impressive Rs 27 crore debut, Bang Bang’s worldwide earnings soared to over Rs 350 crore.
