Fighter

‘Fighter’, the film starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, won’t be released in any Gulf countries except UAE.

There is some bad news for Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone‘s Gulf fans who were eagerly anticipating the release of their film “Fighter.”

“In a setback, #Fighter officially prohibited across Middle East areas for theatrical distribution. Only UAE will distribute the film with PG15 certification,” says producer and film industry analyst Girish Johar.

But the ban’s justification has not been made public yet.

Although the censor board in Gulf countries has not approved “Fighter,” the aerial action thriller will open in Indian theaters on January 25.

The film, which also stars Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, and Akshay Oberoi, is directed by Siddharth Anand.

The film centers on the Indian Air Forces’ operation in the vicinity of the town of Balakot in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan, which took place in response to a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir that claimed the lives of nearly forty members of the CRPF. The operation was launched against the purported headquarters of the terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).

After the successful 2008 film Bachna Ae Haseeno and the highly anticipated Pathaan in 2023, this marks both Siddharth Anand and Deepika’s third film with Hrithik Roshan. The pair’s first film, Bang Bang!, was produced for ₹160 crore and went on to earn ₹340 crore worldwide. Their second film together, War, was produced for ₹150 crore and earned ₹471 crore.

Veteran actor Anil Kapoor plays Group Captain Rakesh Jai Singh, aka Rocky, while Hrithik Roshan plays Squadron Leader Shamsher Pathania, aka Patty. As Minni, or Squadron Leader Minal Rathore, Deepika Padukone portrays her.

Regarding the movie, Siddharth had previously stated, “Happy new year everyone! See you at the movies!! On January 25th. Mama (Siddharth’s wife) and I started our film company MARFLIX with #FIGHTER. An ambitious movie that is more than simply a work of fiction for us. We have put all into it. 2024 begins with the same uneasy, anxious feeling as it did at first.”
