The chairman of Reliance Industries Limited, Mukesh Ambani, proudly displayed his Gujarati heritage when he declared at the VGGS 2024 inaugural ceremony in Gandhinagar on Wednesday that RIL was, is, and will always be a Gujarati company. Over the previous ten years, RIL has invested a total of $150 billion (roughly Rs. 12 lakh crore) in Gujarat.
“Reliance was, is, and will always remain a Gujarati company, and I am a proud Gujarati,” Ambani declared.
“You have laid a solid foundation for ‘Viksit Bharat,'” he added, addressing Prime Minister Narendra Modi. And no force on earth can stop India from becoming a $35 trillion economy by 2047. In my opinion, Gujarat alone will grow to be worth $3 trillion.
Speaking about the 5G rollout in Gujarat by Reliance Jio, the RIL CMD made five commitments to the state: “Reliance will make Gujarat a pioneer in new materials and the circular economy. As a first step, Reliance is setting up India’s first carbon fiber facility at Hazira.” He also announced expansion plans for Reliance Retail to support farmers and small retail merchants. Finally, he said, “We will help Gujarat’s target to meet half of its energy needs through renewable energy by 2030.” Finally, he announced plans for Ambani Reliance Tail’s expansion to support farmers and small retail merchants.
