Who is Revanth Reddy?
Reddy is a Congress Member of Parliament (MP) for the Malkaj giri Constituency in the Lok Sabha.
He was active in the Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP) as a student at Osmania University. He entered politics at a young age and ran as an independent in 2007 to become a Minister of the Legislative Council (MLC).
After that, he joined the Telugu Desam Party (TDS). He served as an MLA in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly twice, in 2009 and 2014. He subsequently moved to the Telangana Assembly, where he served as the Kodangal Constituency’s representative from 2014 to 2018.

Reddy won the Kodangal seat in the 2014 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections with a substantial 46.45 percent of the vote. He also won the same seat in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, receiving 39.06 percent of the vote.
Reddy made a pivotal decision in 2017 when he defected from the TDP to the Congress. He lost the Kodangal seat in the 2019 Telangana Assembly elections, but he bounced back, winning the Malkajgiri seat in the general elections and becoming an MP by a margin of 10,919 votes.
