US Presidential Elections of 2024: According to his spokeswoman, who was cited by the news agency AFP, Vivek Ramaswamy confirmed his Republican candidacy following a lackluster showing in Iowa.

The wealthy outsider ran his campaign as a headline-grabbing populist who could not stop teasing opponents, emulating Trump’s campaign strategy.

Donald Trump easily won the first Republican presidential contest of 2024, which took place in Iowa on Monday. This showed his dominance over the party despite a long number of legal problems as he prepared to take on Democratic President Joe Biden once more, according to Reuters.

Trump posted on Truth Social, his social media network, “THANK YOU, IOWA, I LOVE YOU ALL!!!”

In November, as the former US president attempted to win back the White House, Ramaswamy also supported Trump.

As of right now, we are going to suspend this presidential campaign. There is no path for me to be the next president, Ramaswamy stated, according to PTI. “I looked at it every which way.”

“There are two America First candidates in this race, as I have stated from the beginning. Earlier tonight, I called Donald Trump to congratulate him on his victory and to say that you will have my full endorsement for the presidency going forward,” he continued.

As they competed to become the leading Trump rival, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis came in well behind in second place, according to Edison Research, beating out former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley.

According to Edison, Trump had 50.9% of the projected vote, DeSantis was at 21.4%, and Haley was at 19.0%, with nearly 90% of the vote counted. The biggest margin of victory for an Iowa Republican caucus had been 12.8 percentage points for Bob Dole in 1988.

As per Reuters sources, ramaswamy was premature to conclude if Trump would surpass 50%, a psychological threshold that would bolster his opponents’ contention that his ascent to the nomination might be thwarted.

Haley and DeSantis had both set their sights on a strong second-place finish in order to convince fundraisers and supporters that their challenges to Trump are still legitimate.

Trump has tried to create an air of inevitableness around his candidacy by eschewing most of the county-by-county politicking that other contenders do before the Iowa primary and by skipping all five of the Republican debates thus far.
